Mrs. Ann R. Pooler

Mrs. Ann R. (Rodgers) Gray Pooler, 78, of Newville, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Kutztown, PA, in the loving arms of her children.

Born November 22, 1944, in Norwalk, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Esther M. (Powell) and John S. Rodgers. She and her husband, William C. Pooler, were married in September 2001.

Ann served as the Director of Admissions and also the Director of Development at the Linden Hall School for Girls, Lititz. Ann was also employed as a Sales Director for the Dettra Flag Company, Oaks, and worked as an airline Stewardess for TWA. She was a graduate of Linden Hall School for Girls and attended Moravian College.

Ann truly enjoyed theatre and was previously a member of the Forge Theatre acting group in Phoenixville, PA. She was an accomplished watercolorist with works featured in prominent art galleries in both North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Surviving in addition to her husband, William, are her three children, Elizabeth Schofield (Gray) Smithmyer, wife of Robert J. Smithmyer, Denver, PA, Richard Lloyd Gray III, husband of Fe B. (Bernardino) Gray, Chester Springs, and Meredith Powell (Gray) Apps, wife of Adam D. Apps, West Milford, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary, Adam, Ashton, and Abigail, her stepchildren, Wendi M. (Pooler) Hair, wife of Brian E. Hair, Shippensburg, and William H. Pooler, husband of BethAnn (Taylor) Pooler, Chambersburg, her step-grandchildren, Aiden, Tadhg, Zachary, Heather and Staci, and her step-great-grandchildren, Gavin, Conor, Asher, Teagan, Emmett, and Jasper.

Along with her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Buch.

Services for Ann will be held privately by her family. Donations in Ann's memory can be made to Linden Hall, or to the American Cancer Society.
