Mrs. Barbara J. (Meyer) Stratton

Mrs. Barbara J. (Meyer) Stratton, 83, of Weisenberg Township, passed away on Friday evening, June 6, 2025 at Cornerstone Living, New Tripoli, PA.

Born October 20, 1941 in Appleton, WI, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Campbell) Meyer.

Barbara attended Neenah High School, Neenah, WI, before graduating from New Canaan High School, New Canaan, CT. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Eduction from Russell Sage College, Troy, NY.

Early in life, Barbara taught second grade before dedicating her time to raising her children. She owned her own wheat weaving business, a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman, and shared her art at craft shows and shops for over 25 years. Later in life, she became the head teacher at the after-school program at Doyle Elementary, Doylestown PA. Barb was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golf, swimming in the Rainbow River, visiting with friends and family, and looked for any opportunity to dance and have fun.

Barbara had an amazing ability to live her life's motto, "When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade". Barb was known for her lively energy and magnetic personality, always finding the positive in whatever she did. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Barbara's family is forever grateful to the loving and caring staff of Cornerstone Living, who not only cared for Barbara, but became part of her family.

Barbara is survived by her three children, Andrew W. Miller, husband of Jackie (Sassaman) Miller, Lincoln University, PA, Abby E. (Miller) Claypoole, wife of Shawn P. Claypoole, Kempton, and Brian S. Miller, Pennsburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Evan Miller, Elise Miller, Morgan Claypoole, and Ellie Claypoole, by her brother, William Meyer, husband of Mary Meyer, Edina, MN, her sister, Ginny (Meyer) Reetz, wife of Bob Reetz, Fishers, IN, and by several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred A. Miller and Theodore Stratton, and by her brother, Briggs Meyer.

Services for Barbara will be held privately by her family.
