Betty Lou (Didyoung) Stoudt, 88, of Fleetwood, passed away on Thursday evening, March 9, 2017 at Kutztown Manor where she had been taken earlier in the day after being cared for at home by her loving family and Heartland Hospice.

Betty Lou was a daughter of the late Leo and Goldie (Kiefer) Didyoung. She and her husband of 36 years, Jack Stoudt, were married on December 6, 1980. Her first husband, whom she was married to for 30 years, Kenneth C. Matz, passed away on June 25, 1978.

Betty Lou was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening and especially oil painting. She was a 1946 graduate of Reading High School and a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.

In addition to her husband, Jack, Betty Lou is survived by her children, Kenneth A. Matz, husband of Sandra T. (Allen) Matz, Wyomissing, Marleise Y. Matz, Fleetwood and Corinne R. (Matz) Hersh, widow of Richard L. Hersh, Bowmansville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Josh, Laura, Zacary, Rebecca, Paul Jr. and Brian, her 15 great grandchildren, her 3 great-great grandchildren and her brother, Carl Didyoung, husband of Doris Didyoung, Greenfields.

Along with her parents and first husband, Kenneth, Betty Lou was preceded in death by a son, Alan C. Matz on August 11, 2010 and her brother Richard Didyoung.

Memorial Services for Betty Lou will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, with Pastor Ruth F. Doty officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday from 2:30 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty Lou's memory to the New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 27 Lyons Rd, Fleetwood, PA 19522.
