Dennis B. Mauger

December 23, 1954 — November 7, 2023

Dennis B. Mauger, 68, of Birdsboro, passed away suddenly on Tuesday evening, November 7, 2023, at his home.

Born December 23, 1954, in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Lester E. and Betty J. (Rhoads) Mauger. He and his wife of 32 years, Maris M. (Kratz) Mauger, were married on February 14, 1991, in Birdsboro.

Dennis spent years working at the Boyertown Foundry and as a machinist at Federal Mogul. He worked as a custodian at Twin Valley High School, and in the groundskeeping department at Alvernia University, retiring in 2016. Dennis was a 1974 graduate of Boyertown High School, and a member of the South Birdsboro Archery, Rod & Gun Club, and the Pike Township Sportsman's Association.

Dennis had a great sense of humor and was a gifted woodworker who truly enjoyed working with his hands. He would come up with an idea and, before you knew it, there was the beautiful product of that idea. He was an avid deer hunter, having shot a nice doe this past year, and enjoyed working on cars and fishing.

Dennis and Maris would go camping together, and although the trip to the campsites were not his favorite, he really enjoyed his time camping once he got there. Most of all, Dennis cherished his family. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them no matter what they needed.

In addition to his wife, Maris, Dennis is survived by his four children, Chad M. Mauger, husband of Kelli J. (Dietrich) Mauger, Blandon, Brent A. Mauger, husband of Kelly S. (Lauer) Mauger, Robeson Township, Jared L. Mauger, husband of Jennifer L. (Welch) Mauger, Robeson Township, and Marissa K. (Freymoyer) Freimann, wife of Bradley J. Freimann, Boyertown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Haylie, Kyra, Colton, Chase and Aubrie, his brothers, Franklin Mauger, husband of Arlene Mauger, Boyertown, and Lester Mauger, husband of Lucy Mauger, Emporium, PA, and by many nieces and nephews. Dennis will also be greatly missed by his best furry friends, his doggies, Suni and Bailey.

Along with his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Mary McElwee.

Private Services for Dennis will be held by his family at their convenience.

Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Fleetwood, is honored to be caring for Dennis and his family at this difficult time. Online condolences may be offered at www.WalbertFuneralHome.com.
