Diane I. Shirk

Diane I. (Maczuga) Shirk, 71, of Kutztown, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born July 31, 1946 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Genevieve (Helinski) Maczuga. She and her husband of 47 years, Lonny L. Shirk, were married on November 28, 1970 in Franklin, NJ.

Diane worked for over 16 years for the Kutztown Area School District, working in the cafeteria at Maxatawny Elementary School. She had also worked as a bank teller in New Jersey.

Diane was a member of Grace Church, Kutztown and a graduate of Franklin High School, Franklin, NJ. Diane enjoyed reading and putting puzzles together, but most of all, she adored her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Lonny, Diane is survived by her two sons, Brian J. Shirk, fiance of Tabby L. Master, Blandon and Todd M. Shirk, husband of Jessica A. (Stuart) Shirk, Allentown, her grandchildren, Dylan, Carter and Samantha, her sister, Karen Kwiatek, wife of Frank Kwiatek, Grand Rapids, MI and her brothers, John Maczuga, husband of Gail Maczuga, Brick, NJ and David Maczuga, husband of Terry Maczuga, Bellingham, WA.

A Memorial Service for Diane will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:00 am at Grace Church, 421 W. Main St, Kutztown, with Pastor Adam Roberts officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday, from 10:00 am to11:00 am at the church.
