Eric J. Allmendinger

Eric J. Allmendinger, 39, of Earl Twp, passed away suddenly on Wednesday morning, December 28, 2016 at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.

Born October 30, 1977 in West Reading, he was the son of Marian H. (Dotterer) Allmendinger, Boyertown, and the late Martin Eugene Allmendinger. He and his wife, Heather M. (Martin) Allmendinger, were married on April 26, 2014 at Good Shepherd UCC Church, Boyertown.

Eric worked for over 19 years at Yuasa Battery, Laureldale where he currently was the 1st shift Production Supervisor. He had been 2nd shift Production Supervisor for 15 years as well as a line leader. Eric was in the process of becoming a member of the Teutonia Lodge #367, Free and Accepted Masons, West Reading, where he had just achieved 1st Degree Mason.

Eric truly enjoyed music and especially playing his guitar, mandolin and the ukulele. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Reading Liederkranz Singers. Eric was a 1995 graduate of Boyertown High School.

In addition to his wife, Heather, and his mother, Marian, Eric is survived by his son, Gunnar M. Allmendinger, at home, his step-son, Mason T. Shallcross, at home, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brian and Erin (Ebeling) Martin, Oley, his nieces, Calli A. Martin and Kenzi E. Martin, Oley, his mother-in-law, Linda S. (Platt) Gosnay, wife of Robert J. Gosnay, Douglassville and his father-in-law, Irvin R. Martin, husband of Dawn L. Martin, Lancaster.

Funeral Services for Eric will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:30 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown. Viewings will be held on Monday evening, January 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
