Mrs. Evelyn F. (Reigner) Nagel

Evelyn F. (Reigner) Nagel, 97, of Boyertown, passed away on Saturday morning, April 23, 2022, at the Pennsburg Manor in Pennsburg, PA.

Born December 10, 1924 in Eschbach, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene R. and Minnie C. (Ziegenfuss) Reigner. She was the widow of David A. Nagel, whom she had been married to for 36 years at his death.

Evelyn attended school in Englesville and was a longtime member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Boyertown. She worked for many years at the Boyertown Casket Company as well as several other local factories. She also helped run the family-owned Gilbertsville Hotel.

Evelyn, known to many as "Nana", was active and young at heart. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and listening to Elvis music. She frequently went to the Boyertown YMCA, into her 90's, for regular exercise. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and rarely missed a game on TV. Evelyn's personality and smile were infectious, she would regularly laugh so hard she could hardly breath, bringing those around her to tears of laughter. Her positivity, vitality and love for her family helped her remain youthful. She will be missed by so many who loved her.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Dana L. Nagel, widower of Susan L. (Angstadt) Nagel, Boyertown, her grandchildren, Derek A. Nagel, husband of Marcie L. (Arvonen) Nagel, Aldie, VA and Ryan A. Nagel, Boyertown, her great-grandchildren, Derek Jr., Devin, Savanna, Carson and Trinity, her brother, Harold "Whitey" Reigner, Boyertown, her sister, Jean Hess, Boyertown and by many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, David, and her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Blain Nagel, her daughter, Cynthia Nagel, her sisters Dorothy Hoffman, Faye Bernhard, Pauline Youse and Janet Mutter and her brother Clarence Reigner.

Memorial Services for Evelyn will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, PA. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
