Farbod "Fred" Rahmanian, 58, of Leesport, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.
Born July 28, 1966 in Meshad, Iran, Fred was the son of Feree Mirsepassi, Wyomissing, and the late Mahmood Rahmanian. He and his wife of 26 years, Pam R. (Schaefer) Rahmanian, were married in Reading, PA, on September 7, 1998.
Fred was currently the Chief Data Scientist, Predictive Analytics, for Penn Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He was a guest faculty member for the HIT Certificate program at Columbia University, providing course lectures and seminars on Trends in Healthcare IT, IoT in Healthcare, AI, Big Data in Healthcare and SQL preimer.
Fred previosusly served as Chief Analytics & Technology Officer for Geneia in Harrisburg, where he created the Geneia data intelligence lab and software development organization. He was an Advisory Board Member for Smart Health Innovation Lab, worked for Watson Healthcare and KPMG, and was the Director of Engineering, Senior Key Expert, for Siemens Healthcare, Malvern.
Fred received his Bachlor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Maryland, his Masters degree in Software Engineering, also from the University of Maryland, as Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics, Healthcare IT, from Columbia University and his Doctor of Health Science in Epidemiology and AI/ML for Healthcare from Drexel University.
Fred was a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and loved astronomy, bourbon whiskey tasting, programming and data science, and was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints.
Fred is survived by his wife, Pam Rahmanian, his mother, Feree Mirsepassi, his triplet children, Cyrus Rahmanian, Darius Rahmanian and Maryam Rahmanian, his pet kitties, OJ and PJ, his pet shiloh shephards, Zuko and Azula, his brother, Nader Rahmanian, MD., husband of Cheryl L. (Schnabel) Rahmanian, Leesport, and by his nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Fred will be held privately. Burial will take place in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township, PA.
