Mrs. Fern A. (Blank) Romig

Mrs. Fern A. (Blank) Romig, 89, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Lutheran Home at Topton.

Born November 15, 1933 in Alburtis, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Goldie (Smith) Blank. Her husband of 37 years, Bruce W. Romig, passed away on November 24, 1990.

Fern worked at the Royal Sewing Factory, Alburtis and also worked at the shoe factory in Macungie and sold tickets at the Alburtis Park. She was a former member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Alburtis, and spent many years babysitting children. She enjoyed bingo, going to casinos, and telling jokes. She was truly a people person and cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Fern is survived by her three children, Sandra E. (Romig) Bower, companion of Charles H. Fritch, Hamburg, James W. Romig, husband of Cynthia F. (Moyer) Romig, Alburtis, and Charles A. Romig, husband of Judy (Epting) Romig, Alburtis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alyssa and her husband, Nick, Andrew and his wife, Jenna, Joseph and his companion, Stephanie, Christopher, Harper and Weylen, by her sister, Shirley Mader, widow of Robert Mader, Alburtis, and by many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, Bruce, Fern was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Betty Hertzog, Harold Blank Jr., Carl Blank, Robert Blank, Janet Bernhard and Ronald Blank.

A private family service for Fern will be held with burial to follow in Zion Lehigh Cemetery, Alburtis.
