Frederick W. "Fritz" Korper

Frederick W. "Fritz" Korper, 79, of Reading, passed away on Wed, April 6, 2016 at Manor Care Sinking Spring.

Born December 9, 1936 in Reading, he was the son of the late Frederick W. Korper Sr. and Edna (Shunk) Korper.

Fritz was a bartender in the Reading area for 20 years. He also bartended at the Kentucky Derby, Stokesay Castle and Penn National Racetrack. Fritz also drove taxi in Reading for over 20 years. He was a member of the Evergreen German Club, Fleetwood and loved horseracing and was known to be a ladies man. Fritz graduated from the West Reading School District in 1954.

Fritz is survived by his daughter, Kerry L. Korper, fiancAC.e of Richard P. Rogers, Mohnton, granddaughter Hannah L. Thomason, Mohnton, sister-in-law Audrey Schaeffer, West Reading, his niece Sheila Yasher, Silver Spring, MD and his nephews, Richard Schaeffer, Denver, CO, William Schaeffer, Reading, Frank Schaeffer, Reading, James Schaeffer, O'Fallon, IL and Charles Schaeffer, Mainville, OH, brother-in-law Joseph Jasinski, niece Sharon Kane and nephew, Richard Jasinski, all of Reading.

Fritz was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Schaeffer and his sister Alice Jasinski.

Services for Fritz will be private.
