Mrs. H. Mae Morey

Mrs. H. Mae (Swavely) Morey, 94, of Mohnton, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, PA.

Born May 20, 1928 in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Krall) Swavely. Her husband of 71 years, William E. Morey Jr., passed away on October 22, 2019.

Mae was a homemaker who loved caring for and raising her two sons. She worked as a bookkeeper at the family business, Morey Brothers Construction, and also worked part time at the Colonial Hills Bowling Alley.

Mae was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Congregational Church, Shillington, and attended school in Shillington. She truly enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Mae is survived by her two sons, Jerry Morey, husband of Angie Morey, Mohnton, Jeff Morey, husband of Stacey Morey, Mohnton, her grandchildren, Jesse and his wife, Jaime, Zak, Melissa and her husband, Leroy, and Devon, her great-grandchildren, Owen, Alexis, Daylen and Reilly, and by her great-great-grandchildren, Kaiyalyn and Skylar. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Ruffner, widow of Curtis Ruffner, Mohnton, and by her nieces and nephews, Diane, Curtis III "Skip", Robin and Kathy.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Janna, her great-grandson, Dawson, and by her niece, Karin.

Services for Mae will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
