Mrs. Helen M. (Mathios) Lutz

Helen M. Lutz, 98, of Ephrata, PA, widow of Robert M. Lutz lll passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23rd, 2025.

Helen was born in Philadelphia, PA, to Greek immigrants. She was fluent in the Greek language both written and spoken. She was a dedicated homemaker and an esteemed cook of Greek cuisine. Her family referred to her as YaYa which means Grandmother in Greek.

Helen is survived by her two children Wendy (Lutz) Ghessi and Robert Lutz lV. She was preceded in death by her daughter Patrice (Lutz) Weaver. She had six grandchildren and two great grandchildren which were the loves of her life.

Upon moving to Ephrata, Helen was an active member of the community. She enjoyed participating in various organizations where she assumed leadership roles. Helen was a participating member of the Order of the Eastern Star, The Women's Club, and a supporter of The Ephrata Performing Arts Theater. She was a devoted member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ephrata. Her favorite social pastime was playing bridge with her friends for the past 50 years. But most of all, Helen loved spending time with her family and friends.

Helen was a lover of the arts. Interests included fashion, culinary, craft making, and gardening. Helen was an avid supporter of the Ephrata Playhouse for many decades where she also enjoyed the position of Usher. A fashionista, affectionately called "Queen Helen" by her family, she took great pride modeling the latest top fashions at Donnakers.

For the past decade, Helen resided at Maidencreek Place in Blandon, PA. She was in charge of silk floral arrangements where her designs adorn the facility. She enjoyed the caring staff and always referred to Maidencreek Place as "Her Home".

Helen's sense of humor coupled by her warm smile and laughter will always be remembered. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
