Mrs. Janice C. (Care) McCrudden

Mrs. Janice C. (Care) McCrudden, 94, of Pottstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Keystone Villa, Douglassville.

Born February 25, 1932, in Douglassville, Janice was the daughter of the late Clyde E. and Mildred K. (Saul) Care. The love of her life, her husband of 68 years, William D. McCrudden, passed away on March 20, 2019.

Janice was a 1949 graduate of North Coventry High School. She worked for many years as a bank teller, having worked at Security Trust, Pottstown, National Bank of Boyertown and Meridian Bank, Douglassville. Janice was a member of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, Douglassville, for 85 years.

Janice spent many years helping others. She was a volunteer for over 30 years at the front desk at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, was a member of Chapter 460, Order of the Eastern Star, Birdsboro, and a member of the North Coventry High School Reunion Committee. Janice was a beloved member of the Sanatoga Ridge Community, Pottstown, where she served on the trip committee and wrote for the community newsletter. She truly enjoyed reading, fishing, traveling, flowers, and most of all, spending time with her family, who she was so proud of.

Janice is survived by her three children, John M. McCrudden, husband of Jill L. (Martin) McCrudden, Voorhees, NJ, Cynthia L. (McCrudden) Wentzel, widow of Kim D. Wentzel, and companion of Thomas L. Reese, Jr., Boyertown, and William C. McCrudden, husband of Gwen L. (Loder) McCrudden, Fort Collins, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brad and his wife, Jill, Courtney and her husband, Brian, Marc and his wife, Merima, Casey, Daniel and Matthew, her great-grandchildren, Brady, Hartford and Zeina, by her sister, Gloria Wagoner, widow of Robert Wagoner, Chester Springs, and by her sister-in-law, Patricia Care, widow of Ronald Care, Douglassville.

Along with her parents and her husband, William, Janice was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Care.

Funeral Services for Janice will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, 1188 Ben Franklin Hwy E, Douglassville, PA. A visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 am until time of services at the church. Burial will follow services in the church cemetery.
