John E. Dietrich, Sr, 83, of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.
Born July 26, 1942, in Richmond Township, John was the son of the late John T. and Verna S. (Knittle) Dietrich. The love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Barbara J. (Stern) Dietrich, passed away on February 28, 2024.
John worked for 25 years for East Penn Manufacturing Company, Inc., Lyons, where he worked in the maintenance department. He also worked at Wenton Shoe Factory, and delivered propane for his father's company, John T. Dietrich Propane & Refrigeration.
John attended Fleetwood Area High School and was a member of Maidencreek Church. He previously belonged to the Huguenot Lodge #377, F&AM, Kutztown. John truly enjoyed golfing, bowling and watching the Philadelphia Phillies.
John is survived by his children, Mark A. Dietrich, husband of Lori C. (Romig) Dietrich, Fleetwood, Donna M. (Dietrich) Rabert, wife of Glenn M. Cordick, Kempton, Theresa A. (Dietrich) Carter, wife of Timothy A. Carter, Rome, PA, and John E. Dietrich, Jr., husband of Jennifer R. (Snyder) Dietrich, Hamburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Danielle and her husband, Jimmy, Alyssa and her husband, Josh, Andrew and his wife, Sarah, Aaron and his wife, Brianna, Alex, MacKenzie, Jared, Christopher and his wife, Kaleigh, Talan and Kassandra, his great-grandchildren, Eloise, Brooklynne, Sam, Chase, Ruby and Andrew, his brother, Kenneth Dietrich, his sister, Linda (Dietrich) Schmeer, wife of Roy Schmeer, Muhlenberg Township, and by his many nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife, Barbara, and his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Dietrich and Richard Dietrich.
Services for John will be held privately by his family.
