Joseph L. Bauer, 80, of Allentown, passed away on Thurs., July 2, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born Sept. 12, 1934 in Allentown, he was a son of the late Anna (Matusack) and Joseph A. Bauer. He and his wife, Norma L. (Williams) Bauer, celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on Nov. 14, 2014.

Joseph was a foreman in the blast furnace at Bethlehem Steel for 37 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Kreidersville and enjoyed sailing, photography, wood working, religion and Civil War history. Joseph was a United States Army veteran.

In addition to his wife Norma, Joseph is survived by 5 children, Lori A. (Bauer) Smith, wife of Ronald L. Smith, Danielsville, Patricia A. Bauer, partner of Joan E. Adducie, Allentown, Joseph M. Bauer, husband of Lisa A. (D'Andrea) Bauer, Northampton, Michael J. Bauer, fiancAC. of Laura L. Abrahamson, Northampton and Jeffrey L. Bauer, at home. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Lindsay, Jessica, Mandi, Devin, Kyle and Christopher; his sister Helen (Bauer) Eltz; his brother Frank Bauer; his mother-in-law Louise (Heath) Williams and his beloved dog Jake.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn; brothers Thomas, Albert and Larry; and his first wife Geraldine.

Funeral Services will be held on Tues, July 7, 2015 at 11 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Rd, Northampton, with the Rev. Gary L. Walbert, officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. A viewing will be held Tues, from 9 to 11 am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd, Ste 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
