Joseph D. Rainier, 77, of Kempton, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 4, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Born February 8, 1945 in Bloomsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Frank G. and Florence A. (Lupole) Rainier. He and his wife of 30 years, Connie A. (Burger) Rainier, were married in Fleetwood on May 13, 1992.

Joe served his country honorably and faithfully as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Joe worked for 25 years for Tyler Pipe, Macungie, last working as human resources manager. He also drove truck for Lutron for 5 years retiring in 2011. Joe was a 1963 graduate of Central Columbia High School and received his associates degree in applied business from the Thompson Institute, Harrisburg. Joe was a life member of the Macungie Memorial Post 9264 of the VFW and loved golfing, hunting and doing yardwork.

In addition to his wife, Connie, Joe is survived by his children, Michael B. George, husband of Lori (DeLong) George, Lyon Station, Christine E. (George) Yoffee, wife of Joshua E. Yoffee, Lenhartsville, and Melanie D. (George) Hoffman, wife of Jeremy C. Hoffman, Peyton, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Thomas Hoffman, Calliope Hersey and Gavin Yoffee, and by his brother and sister, Robert Rainier, Bloomsburg, and Ruth (Rainier) Long, Millville, PA.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Donald Rainier, Norman Rainier, Mary Fehnel, David Rainier, Elizabeth Fetterman, Dale Rainier and George Rainier.

In hopes to further help people suffering from disease, Joe has graciously decided to donate his body to medical science through Humanity Gifts Registry.
