Joyce L. Laucks

Mrs. Joyce L. (Kurzweg) Laucks, 84, of Fleetwood, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at her home.

Born September 20, 1932 in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Philemon J. and Sulie E. (Bechtold) Kurzweg. Her husband of 33 years, James M. Laucks, passed away on January 26, 1989.

Joyce was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood, where she had been active in the kitchen, on the sacristy committee and as a member of the choir. Joyce was also fond of sewing.

Joyce was a 1950 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1954 graduate of Kutztown Normal School with a degree in teaching. She spent a few years teaching in the Reading School District.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Heather J. (Laucks) Fellman, wife of Barry C. Fellman, Fleetwood, Peter J. Laucks, husband of Stacy A. (Ayrton) Laucks, Fleetwood and James C. Laucks, husband of Marjorie F. (Jackson) Laucks, Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Benjamin, Heather, Leigh, Ayrton "AJ", Kayla, Emily, Trevor and Addison and her great grandchildren Evelyn, Cora, Madison, Ean and Brayden.

In addition to her husband James and her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her two brothers, Philemon B. Kurzweg and Bruce B. Kurzweg.

A Memorial Service for Joyce will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's UCC Church, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, with the Rev. Patrick W. Morris officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at a later date in Aulenbach Cemetery, Mt. Penn.
