Mrs. Kathie A. Shuey

Mrs. Kathie A. (Hirschel) Shuey, passed away on her 74th birthday, June 4, 2026, at Amity Place, Douglassville, PA.

Born June 4, 1952, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Harold F. and Doris J. (Guth) Hirschel. She and her husband of 54 years, David K. Shuey, were married in the First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, PA, on May 6, 1972.

Kathie was a 1970 graduate of Blue Mountain High School. She worked the gun counter at Cabela's, Hamburg, and had previously worked as the human resources manager at Lowe's, Reading, and in the human resources department at Sam's Club, Temple. Kathie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and putting puzzles together. Most of all Kathie cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband, David, are her daughters. Diana L. (Shuey) Heller, wife of Joshua S. Heller, Fleetwood, Valerie A. Shuey, partner of Jason A. Phillips, Blandon, and Jennifer J. (Himmelmann) Heilmann, widow of James E. Heilmann, West Lawn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin, Alison, Peyton, Trevor, Luke, Bryce and Madison, her sisters, Patti Green, wife of Tom Green, Lawrenceville, GA, Janet Hunter and her companion, Mark, Suwanee, GA, and Nancy Leroy, wife of Larry Leroy, Knoxville, TN, and by her many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held by Kathie's family at a later date.
