Mrs. Linda K. (Rawlings) Walbert, 84, of Coplay, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 4, 2026, in Bethlehem Township, PA.
Born August 19, 1941, in White Plains, New York, Linda was the daughter of the late Mildred L. (Lander) and Russell H. Rawlings, Jr. Linda and the love of her life, her husband of 50 years, Rev. Gary L. Walbert, were married on August 22, 1975.
Linda was a 1959 graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem, and went on to attend Northampton Community College, Lehigh County Community College and Penn State University, University Park. Linda worked as an auditor for 18 years for Bethlehem Steel. She also worked as a licensed real estate agent for Weichert Realtors, Bethlehem, and as an associate at Sears in Whitehall.
Linda was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was an accomplished piano player, playing for nearly 80 years. She spent many years playing piano in the various churches that Gary pastored throughout the Lehigh Valley. Linda also truly enjoyed playing hand bells and singing in various church choirs as well as the Music Arts Chorus in Easton. Linda was also a lay associate of The School Sisters of St. Francis, Bethlehem.
Linda was a huge Penn State Fan and loved going to the football games in State College for many years. She also enjoyed traveling with Dad where she would spend countless hours in the car knitting and crocheting. Linda was a member of the Knitters Edge knitting group and the knitting group at church and helped to start the prayer shawl ministry at church. Many family members and friends continue to enjoy the hats, scarfs, afghans, and many other items she made with love.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Pastor Gary, are her children, Karen K. (Walbert) McCloud, widow of H. Joseph McCloud, Sharon, PA, Elizabeth A. (Walbert) Crossan, wife of David K. Crossan, Safety Harbor, FL, Timothy P. Walbert, husband of Keli B. (Bennett) Walbert, Park Ridge, IL, and Russell P. Walbert, husband of Alicia J. (Moyer) Walbert, Fleetwood. Linda is also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah, David, Ryan, Amanda, Pierce, Timmy, Colin and his wife, Summer, Tyler and Emily, by her brother, James D. Rawlings, II, Bethlehem, and by her sister-in-law, Sherrill M. Rawlings, Bethlehem.
Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Louise, and her brother, Russell B. Rawlings, Jr.
Funeral Services for Linda will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Northampton, PA. Friends are invited to visit with Pastor Gary and Linda's family on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
Burial will take place privately in Jordan Lutheran Cemetery, Orefield.
