Luis C. Sousa

Luis C. Sousa, 39, of Alburtis, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Upper Macungie Township, PA.

Born December 29, 1986 in Portugal, Luis was the son of Joao and Alice (Vicente) Sousa, Philadelphia. He and his wife, Amanda (Hernandez) Sousa, were married on April 5, 2013, in Jacksonville, NC.

Luis served his country honorably and faithfully as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the War on Terrorism.

Luis graduated from George Washington High School in Philadelphia. He has worked for the past three years for Mack Truck, Macungie, where he worked on the production line, was a union representative, and a supervisor. Luis was a member of the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club and truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Amanda, are his children, Levi J. Sousa, and Sophia J. Sousa, both at home, and Tatiana Mejia-Sousa, his sister, Silvia (Sousa) Barrigas, wife of Tony Barrigas, Philadelphia, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lissette (Castex) and Jorge J. Hernandez, Byram, NJ, his brother-in-law, Matthew J. Hernandez, Byram, NJ and by several nieces and nephews.

Luis was preceded in death by his brother, David Sousa.

Military Honors followed by Funeral Services for Luis will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 beginning promptly at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA. A visitation for Luis will be held on Friday from 10:00 am until time of services at the funeral home.
