Marcella M. Brinker

Mrs. Marcella M. (Smith) Brinker, 78, of Kutztown, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.

Born March 12, 1948, in West Reading, Marcy was the daughter of the late Ogden and Margaret (Stoudt) Smith. She and the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Craig L. Brinker, were married in Kutztown on January 3, 1970.

Marcy was a 1966 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and studied art at Kutztown University. She graduated from Empire Beauty School in Reading in 1965 and worked for over 30 years with her mother and sister at Peggy's Beauty Shop, Kutztown.

Marcy was a longtime member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown. She was active with the annual Holiday Bazaar at church for 30 years, serving as chairwoman of the Holiday Bazaar committee for 17 years. Marcy truly enjoyed shopping, going to casinos, tending to her garden and plants, cooking, baking, canning, and especially just talking with her friends and families.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Craig, are her two children, Scott D. Brinker, husband of Sherry L. (Wanner) Brinker, Fleetwood, and Tonia A. (Brinker) Schaeffer, Kutztown, and by her grandchildren, Kaili R. (Brinker) Hish, wife of Noah Hish, Fleetwood, Nathan C. Brinker, Fleetwood, Ethan C. Madeira, Kutztown, Kendra A. Schaeffer, wife of Dylan Butz, Kutztown, Breanne M. (Schaeffer) Weston, wife of Travis Weston, Fort Stewart, GA, and David I. Schaeffer, partner of Savannah Wieder, Kutztown. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Leo, Hudson and a little girl on the way, her sister, Patricia (Smith) Hare, wife of Ted Hare, Tuscarora, PA, her two nephews, Patrick Hare, husband of Lori Hare, and Michael Hare, and by her great nieces, Lillian, Emma, Clara and Sophia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Marcy on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, with Rev. John C. Maria, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.

A viewing for Marcy will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the church.
