Mark Stabolepszy, 65, of Leesport, passed away suddenly, on Saturday, September 13, 2025,
while visiting his hunting cabin in New York.
Born January 20, 1960 in Reading, he was the son of the late Theodore and Filomena
(Pettinato) Stabolepszy. He and his wife, Phyllis H. (Hartz) Stabolepszy, recently celebrated
their 40th wedding anniversary on September 7th .
Mark was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, a loving husband, dedicated father, doting
grandfather, intentional friend, and loyal colleague. Mark dedicated himself to his family and
community as he raised 4 children, faithfully ran a character club for inner-city Reading
children and sought to build meaningful connections with those who crossed his paths by
always welcoming them into his home for meals and thoughtful conversations. Mark's
relationship with Jesus flowed out into the love and time he gave his children. He spent
evenings playing card games; read tirelessly to his children before bedtime; left work early for
countless swim meets, field hockey games, tennis matches and track meets; and quarterbacked
countless backyard family football games. Growing up in Reading and graduating from
Reading High School, Mark maintained a close relationship with his high school friends that
carried through adulthood.
When Mark transitioned to Trinity Bible Fellowship in 2014, he threw himself into building
relationships and making an impact. Mark served as Chairman of the Elder Board for the past
six years and spearheaded the church expansion from 2022-23, which he considered the greatest
way in which God used him during his short time on this earth, second to raising his children.
He and Phyllis also ran a Monday night Bible memory group for young adults seeking a deeper
and personal relationship with Jesus where they fed them dinner, memorized scripture and
created a space for honest discussion and sharing.
Working 41 years for the engineering consulting firm, Spotts, Stevens and McCoy, Mark served
in various roles and capacities as he sought to mentor, connect with, and impact everyone he
worked with throughout his lengthy career. Mark cared diligently about the details and the
people behind those details and always led by doing.
Mark had many passions. He dedicated his fall and winter months to hunting and gentleman
farming at his cabin in New York where he planted fields, read classic literature in the evenings
and enjoyed the solitude of the woods. He always had a bag of books at the ready for
grandchildren and invited friends and family along to enjoy classical music concerts at the
Reading Symphony Orchestra. Mark always had a hug, a listening ear and a word of wisdom
for those around him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Phyllis, are his four children, Paige H. Stabolepszy, Manheim,
Hannah S. Edwards, wife of Mark P. Edwards, Bethlehem, Jill S. Stauffer, wife of Joshua K.
Stauffer, Manheim, and Clay H. Stabolepszy, husband of Mary Grace (Harris) Stabolepszy,
Pricetown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gemma, Pippa, Julia, Naomi, Lydia,
Hope, Tabitha, Titus, Mercy, Wesley, Callum, Esther, and Philip, by his sisters, Ann Rosato,
Reading, and Mary Lecce, Covington, LA, and by many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Badamo.
