Maurice C. Bogia Jr.

Maurice C. Bogia, Jr., 85, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community.

Born May 8, 1933 in Wilmington, he was the son of the late May I. (Forrest) and Maurice C. Bogia, Sr.. He was the husband of Jeannie M. (Berkebile) Bogia.

Maurice worked for over 40 years for the Wilmington News Journal in the circulation department. He had also sold soda on the corner when he was a young man. He served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Army.

Maurice enjoyed golfing and summers in Oak Orchard on the Indian River. He spent a significant amount of time traveling the United States with his family in a small camper. One of the highlights of his life was getting to see an eclipse with his son, Larry.

In addition to his wife Jeannie, he is survived by his three children, Debby E. Bogia, wife of Rick Curles, Wilmington, DE, Larry C. Bogia, Royersford and Gregg A. Bogia, husband of Therese T.E. (Reitz) Bogia, Fleetwood, his step-sons, Richard L. Kipp, husband of Sally A. (Stout) Kipp, Perryville, MD, Roger W. Kipp, husband of Michelle L. (Gaver) Kipp, Conowingo, MD and Timothy W. Kipp, husband of Janett E. (Lawson) Kipp, Port Deposit, MD and his step-daughter-in-law, Deanna C. (Walker) Kipp, widow of Daniel A. Kipp, Felton, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caleb, Megan, Katie, Alice, Elin, Richard, Sam, Jessica, Dana, Holly, Rebecca, Emily, James and Ezri and by his two great-grandsons, Mason and Judah.

Along with his parents, Maurice was preceded in death by his sister, Doris May Slocomb and his step-son, Daniel A. Kipp.

Funeral Services for Maurice will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE. Burial will follow the services in the chapel. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the chapel.
