Mina Jane Knechtle

Mina Jane (Eyrich) Knechtle, 83, of Exeter Township, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, PA.

Born November 9, 1942, in Oley, Jane was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Henry Eyrich.

Jane was a 1960 graduate of Oley Valley High School and also studied computer at Berks Technical Institute. She worked for the Garden State Tannery, Fleetwood, and in the plant at Bethlehem Steel. Jane was a mainstay at the Oley Valley Fair each year, having worked in the membership booth for over 40 years. She truly enjoyed photography and working in her garden.

Jane is survived by her grandchildren, Tobias L. Knechtle, husband of Jenna L. (Henn) Knechtle, Lower Heidelberg Township, and Kira L. (Knechtle) Achenbach, wife of Tyler S. Achenbach, Temple, her great-grandchildren, Channing, Bentley, Easton, Chandler, April and Zoey, her sisters, Helen M. (Eyrich) Refi, wife of Richard Refi, Boyertown, and Eleanor M. (Eyrich) Karpinski, widow of Paul Karpinski, Exeter Township. She is also survived by her nieces, Lynn and Kristina, her nephews, David and Philip, and her dear friend, Karen (Shuman) Creed, wife of Terry Creed.

Along with her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lee Knechtle, her great-grandson, Ryder, her sister, Doris Lorah, her brother, Frederick Eyrich, and by her dear friend Charles "Skip" Shuman.

Graveside services for Jane will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at Oley Cemetery, 325 Covered Bridge Road, Oley, PA.
