Norberto Velez-Cedeno

Norberto Velez-CedeA�o, 75, of West Reading, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Manor Care, West Reading where he had been a resident for 4 years.

Born June 6, 1940 in Yauco, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Domingo and Ramona (CedeA�o) Velez.

Norberto was a United States Army veteran and attended St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Reading. He worked in several industries throughout his life. He was an avid baseball fan and had coached baseball in the Reading National, Babe Ruth and Senior Leagues. He also spent years umpiring baseball and loved to ride bicycle.

Norberto is survived by his daughters, Janet Velez, Erie, PA, Ivelise Velez, Reading, Ivenette Velez, Lakeland, Fl, and his sons, Norberto Velez and Wilson Velez, Paterson, NJ, Norberto Velez Jr., Angel L. Velez and Luis N. Velez, all of Reading. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his sisters, Luz M. Velez, Maria L. Velez and Julia Velez.

In addition to his parents, Norberto was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilfredo and Carlos D. Velez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Norberto on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 9:30 am at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 322 South Fifth Street, Reading. A viewing will be held Friday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the church. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Norberto's memory to St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 322 South Fifth Street, Reading, PA 19602.
