Mrs. Ramona (Nieves) Montes De Oca

Ramona (Nieves) Montes De Oca, 62, of Reading, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Kutztown Manor, Kutztown, PA.

Born May 9, 1958 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Salvador and Ramona (Rodriguez) Nieves. She and her husband of 18 years, Alfredo Montes De Oca, were married on June 10, 2002 in Reading.

Ramona worked as a CNA at Berks Heim and also worked for Giorgio Foods as a packer.

Most of her life, Ramona was a homemaker and loved to cook. She adored her children and spent many years caring for all six of her sons and for 15 foster children as well.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Alfredo, are her sons, Victor Manuel Castro, Jr., Fleetwood, Miguel Antonio Castro, husband of Tanya I. (Mojica) Castro, Reading, Jonathan Paul Hernandez, Portland, OR, Joshua Almonte Nieves, Mount Penn, Jason Vara Montes De Oca, Reading and Christopher Vara Montes De Oca, Reading. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, her great-grandson and one great-grandchild on the way, her brother, Jose’ and by her sisters, Virginia, Maria and Rosie.

Along with her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by her siblings, Miguel, Bernardo and by 2 in infancy.

Private Memorial Services will be held for Ramona.
