Randall R. "Randy" Madara

January 29, 1952 — March 2, 2021

Randall R. "Randy" Madara, 69, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Tower Health Reading Hospital, West Reading, after a brief illness.

Born January 29, 1952 in West Reading, he was the son of the late Lois T. (Ross) Diehl and Calvin L. Madara. He and his wife of 25 years, Lori A. (Berkheiser) Madara, were married on October 14, 1995 at West Lawn United Methodist Church.

Randy was a truck driver for many years. He worked for Gotwal Trucking, New Penn Motor Express, CBL Trucking, Fisher Leasing and for Interstate Container Corporation, from where he retired in 2015.

Randy was a past member of the Muhlenberg Township Board of Commissioners, a current member of the Muhlenberg School District School Board and a member of the Teamsters for 44 years. He was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church where he was a past President of the Board of Trustees. Randy was a proud member of the Muhlenberg High School Class of 1969.

Randy loved Nascar, Chevy cars and the beach. He loved renovating homes, especially for his children, and also building things for his grandsons. Most of all, Randy was a wonderful provider and loving husband, father and grandpa who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Lori, are his daughters, Mehgan L. (Madara) Epler, wife of Matthew R. Epler, West Lawn, and Abby L. Madara, at home. He is also survived by his grandsons, Ryan, John and Seth, by a half-brother, David Diehl, husband of Betsy (Duncan) Diehl, Frederick MD and by several aunts, uncles and nieces.

Funeral Services for Randy will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave, West Lawn, PA. A viewing will be held for Randy on Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
