Mrs. Rebecca E. (Souders) Appleby

Mrs. Rebecca E. (Souders) Appleby, 68, of Blandon, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at her home.

Born February 12, 1953 in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Evelyn (Lichty) Souders. She and her husband, Stephen R. Appleby, were married on June 24, 1972 in St. Paul's UCC Church, Trexlertown.

Becky worked for 20 years as a recovery specialist for Lehigh Valley Health Plan. She had also worked as a trainer and in coding and billing for Prudential for 20 years, and at Thrift Drug. Becky was a 1971 graduate of Parkland High School and attended Kutztown University.

Becky was a longtime UCC church member. She was active in the choir and consistory at her churches, St. Paul's UCC, Trexlertown, Grace UCC, Allentown, and now at St. Paul's UCC, Fleetwood. She loved shopping and collecting angels, but most of all, she adored her family.

In addition to her husband, Stephen, Becky is survived by her two sons, Jeremy S. Appleby, husband of Bridgette C. (Darrough) Appleby, Fleetwood, and James R. Appleby, husband of Heather A. (Munson) Appleby, Orange, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Noah, Donald, Annaleise, Catie, Alex, Carter, Taylor and Evan, and by her siblings, Mark Souders, husband of Cheryl Souders, Centerport, Greg Souders, husband of Lori Souders, Alburtis, Cory Souders, husband of Carolyn Souders, Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Reinert, wife of Tom Reinert, Allentown, Mindy Love, wife of Dennis Love, Huntersville, NC, and her brother-in-law, Larry Shoup, widower of Becky's sister, Melanie Shoup, who passed away earlier this year.

Memorial Services for Becky will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's UCC Church, 5 W. Arch St, Fleetwood, PA. Visitations will be held on Wednesday evening, December 15, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, and again on Thursday morning, December 16, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
