Reuel E. "Tom" Thomas of Muhlenberg Twp. passed away on Sat., May 14, 2016 at his home.
Born March 12, 1930 in Williamsport, PA, he was a son of the late Claude and Elizabeth (Emery) Thomas. He and his wife, Nancy A. (Dissinger) Thomas, celebrated their 60th anniversary on March 10, 2016.
Reuel was a welder, having worked for Hub Tool, Exeter, Specialty Design, Oley and Reading Sheet Metal. He was a member of St. Paul's UCC Church, Fleetwood, where he was active on the Property Committee.
Reuel served his country honorably in the US Air Force. He was a 1948 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was a member of their very first football team.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his daughter Debra A. (Thomas) Reinert, wife of Gary A. Reinert, Fleetwood and his son, Gregg A. Thomas, Reading. He is also survived by his grandson, Joshua Thomas Reinert, Lancaster, fiancAC. of Stephanie N. Hosan, also of Lancaster, his sisters Joyce Taubitz, Oklahoma and Joann Warren, Blandon along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Reuel was proceeded in death by his brothers Joseph Thomas and David L. Thomas.
Funeral Services for Reuel will be held on Wed, May 18, 2016 at 11 am at St. Paul's UCC Church, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood with Rev. Patrick W. Morris and Rev. John Folk officiating. Burial will be in St. John Hain's Cemetery, Wernersville. A viewing will be held Wed., May 18, 2016 from 9 to 11 am at the church.
Contributions may be made in Reuel's memory to the St. Paul's UCC Church Memorial Fund, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, PA 19522 or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Relay for Life Team Fleetwood Friends, at the church address.
