Richard L. Geiring Jr., 74, of Richmond Township, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday evening, August 15, 2025.
Born June 27, 1951 in Allentown, Richard was the son of the late Loretta E. (Reinhard) Mismer and Richard L. Geiring, Sr. He and his wife, Linda B. (Knabb) Geiring, were married 34 years.
Richard served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1991, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.
Richard attended Kutztown Area School District, and following his career in the US Navy, he worked as a maintenance mechanic for D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Company, Fleetwood, and Sweet Streets Bakery, Reading. He was a member of the Ray A. Master, American Legion Post 217, Topton, and truly enjoyed golfing.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda, are his step-daughters, Michele L. Zimmerman, Kutztown, and Andrea L. (Zimmerman) Orwig, wife of James F. Orwig, Kutztown, his grandchildren, Madison, Sydney, Scott, Kayla, Jesse and Jordan, his great-granddaughter, Charly Rose, and by his sisters, Debra and Lorraine, and his brother, Ronald.
Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Lynn Geiring, and his sister, Patricia.
Private graveside services for Richard will be held at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
