Robert L. "Bobby" Richard

Robert L. "Bobby" Richard, 78, of Oley, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Lutheran Home at Topton.

Born April 26, 1947 in Douglass Township, Bobby was the son of the late Wilmer L. and Grace M. (Fretz) Richard. The love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Joy E. (Strunk) Richard, passed away on July 23, 2022.

Bobby owned and operated the Sunnydale Farm in Oley for over 60 years, retiring in 2020. He was devoted to agriculture and the educating our youth. He was very active with the Oley Valley Future Farmers of America Chapter. He was a 1965 graduate of Oley Valley High School.

Bobby was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Spangsville, where he served several terms on Church Council, Property Committee Chairman, church sexton, and sang in the church choir for over 50 years. He also was the Secretary of the Oley Cemetery Board for many years. Bobby was dedicated to the Oley Valley and loved studying and reading local history books. He also enjoyed dancing with the Oley Valley Hoedowners.

Bobby is survived by his two children, Andrew L. Richard, husband of Beth (Kabatt) Richard, Oley, and Heather Joy (Richard) Cureau, wife of Harold G. Cureau, Jr., Red Lion, PA.

Graveside funeral services for Bobby will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at Oley Cemetery, 325 Covered Bridge Road, Oley, PA.
