Wayne P. Sicher, 86, of Kutztown, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Born April 1, 1940, in Topton, Wayne was the son of the late Ralph and Gertrude (Coller) Sicher. His wife of 40 years, Sally A. (Eckert) Sicher, passed away on July 23, 2004.
Wayne attended Kutztown School District and then went on to serve his country honorably and faithfully as a member of the United States Navy.
Wayne worked for Caloric for five years as a floater and then had a long career with Quaker Maid Kitchens in Leesport. Over the 29 ½ years that Wayne worked for Quaker Maid, he was a sprayer, worked in quality control and was a group leader. Wayne also spent time working as a custodian and groundskeeper for the Fleetwood Area School District.
Wayne was a member of the former New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Fleetwood, and truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking in the mountains. Most of all, Wayne cherished his family and spending time with his son and grandson.
Wayne is survived by his companion of 17 years, Grace L. (Muth) Miller, his son, Randy L. Sicher, Mertztown, his grandson, Corey M. Sicher, Mertztown, and by his sisters, Betty (Sicher) Gentile, wife of Robert Gentile, Florida, and Carol (Sicher) DeLong, Kutztown.
In addition to his wife, Sally, and his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Sicher and Dwayne Sicher, his grandson, Mark Sicher, and by his brothers, Jack Sicher, Donald Sicher, Sr., Lee Sicher and William Sicher.
Funeral Services for Wayne will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood. Burial with Military Honors provided by the Honor Guard from the Ray A. Master, American Legion Post 217, Topton, will follow in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood.
A viewing for Wayne will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
