Winifred "Winnie" (Prempeh) Boakye, 33, of Richmond Township, passed away tragically on Friday, July 7, 2023, at her home.
Born February 11, 1990, in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana, Winnie was the beloved daughter of Rev. Dr. Fredua Agyemang Prempeh and Mrs. Mildred Agyemang Prempeh. She was a calm and loving first born who was respected a lot.
Winnie started her early school at a Cambridge international school of which she led the school in the National Parade with her skillful stick rolling. She later went to Osei Kyeretwie secondary school where she focused on business studies.
Winnie's love for accounting encouraged her to pursue her diploma in accountancy at Kumasi Polytechnic, now Kumasi Technical University. She then pursued her Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Accounting at the Christian Service University College Kumasi. Due to her unique character, she was awarded as the Best Female Personality of the year 2014-2015.
She had the opportunity to do her mandatory national service at the Ghana National Service Scheme after which she was retained to work as a full-time employer because of her hardworking nature as the Deputy Auditor. After her move to Pennsylvania, Winnie was a teacher at the YMCA Early Learning Center, Fleetwood, PA.
Winnie received her master's degree and had a dream of using her education to help others, but unfortunately, that did not materialize. She was loved by all her friends because of her selfless care and jovial personality. She loved to devote her time for God and His work. Philippians 1:21" For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain".
She Started Church at St. James Baptist Church where she rolled stick for the girls brigade. She then continued with Power Chapel being part of the Crusaders. Winnie also worked with Dew of Hermon Ministry International as the Head of Finance and a Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to her mother and father, Winnie was blessed with two wonderful children, Ronaldo Prince-Harry Boakye and Alice Winnie Amponsah Boakye. She is also survived by her grandfather, Emmanuel Asante, her siblings, Wilhemina Prempeh, Wendy Prempeh, Winfrey Prempeh, Joseph Addai, Nana Ahema Agyekum, and Dwamena Darkwa, her nieces and nephews, Jesse Jesus Amoateng, Misael Amoateng, and Misaella Amoateng, her uncles, Aaron Prempeh, Rainer Schamm, her aunty, Mavis Kyei Mensah, her cousin, Esther and Husband, and their 5 children ages 3-22, and her other cousins, Faye Afrane, Mavis Kyei Mensah, Amanda Addae, Monica Adu Gyamfi, and Derrick Fredua, Agyeman.
Funeral Services for Winnie will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood.
A viewing for Winnie will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
