Charles E. Rimby Jr.

Charles E. Rimby, Jr., 93, of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Grand View Manor, Fleetwood, PA.

Born October 9, 1930, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Rachel S. (Townsend) Rimby. His wife of 61 years, Retta A."Toots" (Sharp) Rimby, passed away on March 6, 2015.

Charlie was a graduate of Northeast High School, Philadelphia, and went on to serve his country in the United States Army Reserves.

He worked as a transmission specialist for nearly 30 years for Berglund Ford, Camden, NJ, spent 10 years working for TWA at the Philadelphia airport as a grounds crew mechanic and finished out his career working for the Cherry Hill Board of Education as a boiler and maintenance technician.

Charlie was a very active boy scout leader in Camden County, NJ, and enjoyed helping at the Kutztown Folk Festival, camping, doing crafts, and loved flea markets. His family also called him Betty Crocker for his amazing abilities in the kitchen.

Charlie is survived by his four children, Dianne J. (Rimby) McCorristin, wife of Michael W. McCorristin, Windsor Twp, Brenda S. (Rimby) Ormston, Runnemede, NJ, Charles E. "Skip" Rimby, III, husband of Donna M. (Packer) Rimby, Clementon, NJ, and Douglas W. Rimby, husband of Anne B. (Smith) Rimby, Cherry Hill, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristy, Heather, Jimmy, Suzannah, Charlie IV, Alysha, Connor and Rebecca, his great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Riley, Reece, Sierra, Kerek, Justin Jr., Hannah, James, Brenda Valentina, Levi and Paula, his great-great grandson, Brooks, and by his sister, Jane Medvic, Bensalem.

Along with his parents and his wife, Toots, Charlie was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Redcay, his great-great granddaughter, Lillian, and by his brother, William McCully.

Memorial Services for Charlie will be held privately by his family.
