Ernest L. Sheetz, 91, of Fleetwood, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Tower Health, Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.
Born October 8, 1929 in Rockland Twp, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Hettie (Cronrath) Sheetz.
Ernie served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Ernie worked in the banking industry for 26 years. He also operated an antique stand at Renninger's Market, Kutztown. Ernie was a member of the Lyons Fire Company, the Blandon Fire Company, the American Legion, Cloister Post 429, Ephrata and a member at Anytime Fitness, Blandon.
Ernie was a member of the Class of 1947 at Fleetwood Area High School and studied at Reading Business Institute. He was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed cooking, reading and traveling.
Ernie is survived by his sister, Verna (Sheetz) Guinther, Wyomissing and by many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Memorial Services for Ernie will be held on Tuesday evening, April 20, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood with Rev. Ruth F. Doty officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Private burial will take place in New Jerusalem Cemetery, Fleetwood.
