Gary F. Hartman, 85, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Pembroke, North Carolina.
Born May 15, 1936 in Oley, he was the son of the late Sallie (Frey) and Amos Hartman. His wife of 34 years, Dorothy H. (Rader) Hartman, passed away on August 9, 2017.
Gary worked for Manderbach Ford as a transfer driver, Wyomissing School District as a custodian, and for Eagle Distributing, F.M. Brown's Sons, and Ted Smith Linoleum and Tile. He attended Oley Valley High School.
Gary served in the US Army and was a former member of Zion Spies Lutheran Church, Alsace Township, and enjoyed going to public sales and auctions, gardening and farming.
Gary is survived by his children, Michelle D. (Hartman) Braun, Leesport, Gary F. Hartman, Jr., Shillington, Michelle D. (Lott) Barnes, wife of Robert Barnes, Florida, Stephanie A. (Lott) Hart, wife of Dave Hart, Parkton, North Carolina, and Christal L. (Lott) Nordisck, wife of Jake Nordsick, Muhlenberg Township. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents and his wife, Dorothy, Gary was preceded in death by his siblings, Alice Conrad, Grace Redcay, Sarah Dautrich, Mabel Mersinger, May Hartman, Amy Himmelreich, Christine Bingaman, Mildred Reber, his twin sister, Mary Haas, Ralph Hartman, Elmer Hartman, Luther Hartman, Earl Hartman and Amos Hartman Jr.
Funeral Services for Gary will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. A viewing for Gary will be held Friday, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
