Gloria M. (Schade) Schaeffer

Gloria M. (Schade) Schaeffer, 85, of Blandon, passed away on Sunday evening, February 23, 2020 at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

Born August 21, 1934 in Kutztown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mildred (Nester) Schade. Her husband of 41 years, Harvey L. Schaeffer, passed away on September 30, 2018.

Gloria was a waitress most of her life. She worked at Gilley’s, the Airport Diner and at Boscov’s. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Kutztown where she enjoyed many of the church activities she was involved in. She was a 1952 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and enjoyed word searches and also traveling and dancing with Harvey.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Randy C. Stitzel, husband of Sherry L. (Esterly) Stitzel, Fleetwood and Kevin P. Stitzel, Fleetwood. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris, Amy, Ryan, Tyler, Noah and Anthony and by her great-grandchildren Paige, Jared, Nick, Cooper, Parker, Addyson and Cooper.

Along with her parents and her husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Stitzel and her brother, Larry Schade.

Memorial Services for Gloria will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood. A visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Interment alongside Harvey will take place later at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
