Gloria Marie Law

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our dear sister, Gloria Law, passed away peacefully on Veteran's Day, 11/11/2022, following a lengthy and hard fought battle with cancer.

Glo, as she was known to family and friends, was the eldest of five children of Richard and Gloria Law of Kutztown, Pennsylvania. As the big sister to her siblings (Celeste, Rick, Chris, and Jocelyn) Glo shouldered the responsibility of looking after her younger sisters and brothers. Her support and guidance growing up were immeasurable.

Always an outstanding student, Glo graduated from Kutztown Area High School with honors, and the well-earned title of Valedictorian. From there, Glo moved on to a very successful collegiate experience at both Kutztown University and Lehigh University, where she excelled in the Air Force ROTC program.

After a graduating college (again with honors), Glo entered the next phase of her life as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. She specialized in International Air Force Intelligence, and spent years carrying out her duties in numerous military "hot spots" throughout Central and South America.

Her love of language (Spanish in particular) played a critical role in her successful career in Air Force intelligence. The military places a high value on communication, and Gloria flourished in her years of service.

Being diagnosed with cancer is everyone's worst nightmare, and Gloria was no exception. When doctors told Glo she had esophageal cancer, she didn't fold or break. Glo focused on the battle, and always kept fighting with an amazing spirit. Her positive outlook and enduring spirit can be best remembered by the following poem...

Weep not for me, though I have gone
Grieve if you will, but not for too long
I am at peace, my soul is at rest
With you, my family, I have been blessed

There is no pain, I suffer not
So leave suffering out of your thoughts
Remember not the struggles and strife
I'd much prefer you celebrated my life

A visitation for Gloria will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, PA. A mass will be celebrated for Glo at 10:30 am Friday at the church, followed by Military Honors being rendered for her by the Ray A. Master American Legion Post 217 Honor Guard, Topton.
