Lance Corporal Devon M. Foreman, 20, of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on August 13, 2020.
Born May 4, 2000 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Syreeta B. (Bailey) Montanez.
Devon was actively serving his country honorably and faithfully as an administrative specialist assigned to the Installation Personnel Administration Center, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC and was temporarily assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
Devon loved dancing, especially salsa and attended church on base. He was well known for making people laugh and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, listening to music and working on cars. He loved clothing and sneakers and was so proud to be dressed in his United States Marine Corps uniform.
Devon was a 2018 graduate of Northeast High School, Philadelphia and enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 2018 graduating from the Parris Island Training Center. Devon was very accomplished early in his career in the US Marine Corps. Based on his outstanding leadership and performance, he was promoted to Meritorious Corporal within two years.
In addition to his mom, Syreeta, Devon is survived by his two brothers Jaren M. Foreman and Giancarlo D. Montanez, his maternal grandmother, Maria M. (Perez) Wright, widow of James H. Wright, Blandon, his Maternal great grandparents, Daniel and Olga Perez, Philadelphia and his maternal great-grandmother, Mary Crockett, Philadelphia. He is also survived by his aunt, Andrea J. Hatch-Perez, fiance of Joshua R. Hite, Blandon, his uncle Montae Bailey, Minneapolis, MN and several cousins.
A visitation will be held for Devon on Wednesday evening, August 26, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, PA.
Public Graveside Services with United States Marine Corps Military Honors will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Ivy Hill Cemetery, 1201 Easton Rd, Philadelphia, PA.
