Martin D. Tiderman

Martin D. Tiderman, 90, of Fleetwood, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at the Highlands, Wyomissing.

Born June 26, 1931 in West Reading, he was the son of the late Sanford Tiderman and Anna (Painter) Kauffman. His wife of 69 years, Edith M. (Dries) Tiderman, passed away on August 21, 2021.

Martin and Edith owned and operated Tiderman's General Store, Molltown, for 10 years. He was a truck driver for the Berks County Co-Op and an Electrician Supervisor at the Lehigh Heidelberg Cement Plant, Evansville, for 44 years.

Martin was a member of Becker's St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Molltown, where he was Council President for many years. He also served as treasurer of the cemetery and planned and built the memorial garden and cross in front of the church.

Martin was a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Huguenot Lodge #377, F & AM, Kutztown. He was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School and loved hunting, fishing, boating, and line dancing with Edith.

Martin is survived by his children, Julie A. (Tiderman) Hughes, wife of Robert S. Hughes, Kennett Square, Mark D. Tiderman, husband of Linda E. (Gallagher) Tiderman, Blandon and Danny J. Tiderman, husband of Dawn (Stengle) Tiderman, Kintnersville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Melissa and her husband, Frank, Evan and his wife, Rhonda, Cory, Casey and his wife, Shannon, Dana and Jesirae, his great-grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Jeremy, Juliette, Jameson, Vera, Marion, Shaelyn and Gail, his sisters, Roberta Muir, South Carolina and Neida Pruitt, York, PA, and by his brother, David Kauffman, Lima, OH.

Along with his parents and his wife, Edith, Martin was preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia, Sanford Jr., Mariea, Charlie, Buster and Carol.

Funeral Services will be held for Martin on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11:00 am at Becker's St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 265 Maidencreek Rd, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewings will be held for Martin on Thursday evening, April 21, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, and again on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the church.
