Ronald P. Allwein

Ronald P. Allwein, 83, of Richmond Township, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at his home.

Born July 2, 1938 in West Reading, he was the son of the late Paul A. and Carrie M. (Mengel) Allwein-Angstadt. Ronald and the love of his life, his wife, Faith L. (Lonaberger) Allwein, were married in Reading on April 5, 1958.

Ronald was a firefighter in the City of Reading for 25 years, retiring in 1988. He also was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Goodwill Fire Company, Hyde Park, from 1971 to 1984. Ronald was a member of the Berks County Fireman's Association and the Washington Fire Company, Reading.

Ronald was a 1956 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and went on to train at the Berks County Fire School and the Penn State Fire School.

In addition to his wife, Faith, Ronald is survived by his three children, Kenneth P. Allwein, husband of Kathy L. (Meiran) Allwein, Fleetwood, Chris N. Allwein, husband of Annette E. (Yost) Allwein, Blandon, and Kim L. (Allwein) Kepley, wife of Russell P. Kepley, Laureldale, his grandchildren, Josh, Tyler, Alexis, Ashley and Ridge, his great-grandchildren, Sofia, Olivia and Hans, his two step-grandchildren, and by his six step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harold Angstadt and by his two grandchildren, Courtney and Austin Allwein.

Funeral Services for Ronald will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
