Sir Winfield Alfred "Ted" Eshbach Sr., 76, of Fleetwood, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA.
Born January 30, 1947 in Huff's Church, he was the son of the late Junior Eshbach Sr. and the late Olivia (Derr) and George Schoenly. He and his wife of 29 years, Betty L. (Smith) Eshbach, were married on June 26, 1994 at the Appalachian Campground in Shartlesville, PA.
Ted worked as a maintenance supervisor at Mrs Smith's Bakeries, Pottstown, for many years. He had also worked as a cookie dough maker at Fleetwood Snacks and a campground host in Tobyhanna.
Ted was a member of the New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, where he was a member of church council and sang in the choir. After high school, Ted attended electrical school and floristry school. Ted enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping, and most of all, truly loved gardening.
In addition to his wife, Betty, Ted is survived by his children, Ilona M. (Eshbach) Betts, wife of Brook E. Betts, Topton, Winfield A. "Ted" Eshbach, Jr., husband of Theresa J. (Rowan) Eshbach, Boyertown, and Joseph E. Eshbach, Douglassville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole, Natalie, and Zachary, his great-grandson, Vladimir, his sister, Sandra (Eshbach) Shane, wife of Gene Shane, Oley, and his brother, Elmo Eshbach, husband of Natalie Eshbach, Boyertown.
Along with his parents, and stepfather, Ted was preceded in death by his son, Randall S. Eshbach, his grandson, Justin Betts, and his brothers, Roland Eshbach and Junior Eshbach Jr.
Funeral Services for Ted will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA, with Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman, officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lehigh Cemetery, Alburtis.
A viewing will be held for Ted on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
