She was the daughter of the late John and Martha Paul of Siegersville, PA, born December 18, 1933 in Allentown Hospital and was raised by her maternal grandmother, Clara Belle Baer (Mrs. James), now departed, whom she always called “Mother”. Precededing her in death in addition to her parents and grandmother was her brother, Robert.

Thelma married her childhood sweetheart, Earl, on May 29, 1954 in Muhlenberg College’s Gideon F. Thelma Started singing and dancing at age 3 and continued until she was 19. She entertained with Uncle Jack and Mary Lou, Willis Meyer, Hank Lawson and the Bums, Circle J. Ranchriders of Quakertown, the Sleepy Hollow Band of Pennsburg and Martha Hillegass’ Broadway Buckeroos. She managed a switchboard at Lehigh Valley Trust Bank, Allentown for many years, worked as a notions salesperson at SS Kresge, worked as a cashier at McDonalds, receptionist at ABC Dance and did sales for Avon and Shaklee. She and Earl loved dancing, especially waltzes, polkas and slow steps.
