Yvonne M. (Readinger) Swoyer

Yvonne M. (Readinger) Swoyer, 55, of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home.

Born September 16, 1964 in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George and Carolyn (Goldsboro) Readinger.

Yvonne worked for many years at Lowe’s on 5th Street where, as she affectionately called her job, “playing with the plants”. She also worked at Boscov’s East in the catering and stocking departments.

Yvonne attended Twin Valley High School and loved working with stained glass, gardening and flowers and especially decorating for the holidays.

Yvonne is survived by her four children, Charles R. Swoyer, husband of Annie (Buzeleski) Swoyer, Reading, David C. Swoyer, Reading, Georgene M. Swoyer, wife of Phillip M. Wickwire, Exeter and Paul D. Swoyer, Reading. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alyssa, Phillip Jr., Charlie, Brianna, Kaydan and Julian, her great-grandchildren, Carter and Kenzie, and her brothers, Michael, Barry, Larry, George and Bruce.

Along with her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her son, George John Swoyer, II.

A visitation will be held for Yvonne on Tuesday evening, June 9, 2020 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA.

Due to current restrictions, a line will form outside the front door of the funeral home at 6:00 pm and intermittent groups will be admitted in keeping with current restrictions for attendance.
