Mrs. Frances J. (Jahn) Fry

Mrs. Frances J. (Jahn) Fry, 90, of Emmaus, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in Kutztown, PA.

Born December 15, 1931, in Muncy, PA, she was the daughter of the late Otto C. and Amy (Boatman) Jahn.  Her husband of 65 years, Dr. Robinson G. Fry, passed away on January 10, 2021.

Frances graduated from Muncy High School in 1950.  She was active in the marching band and yearbook and was named May Queen of Muncy High School her senior year.  After high school, Frances graduated in 1954 from Ursinus College.  After college, Frances worked for Bell Telephone in customer service and the Rodale Test Kitchen.

Frances truly enjoyed giving of her time for others.  She spent many years volunteering for various organizations.  She was a volunteer at the Emmaus High School library, a volunteer and past board member of the Jesup Memorial Library, Bar Harbor, ME, a member of and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Allentown Osteopathic Hospital, and served as secretary of the Acadia Senior College, Bar Harbor. 

Frances enjoyed hiking and was a member of Footloose Friends Hiking Club, Bar Harbor.  She also enjoyed cooking, baking, playing tennis and bridge.  Frances was also a member of the Bar Harbor Congregational Church.

Frances is survived by her three daughters, Robin A. (Fry) Davies, wife of Clifford O. Davies, Willow Spring, NC, Kathi F. (Fry) Ramsdell, wife of Daniel R. Ramsdell, Zionsville, PA, and Dr. Jennefer F. (Fry) Gehringer and Allen L. Gehringer, Hamburg.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Dana, Ariel, Carson, Ryan and his wife, Cristi, Hannah, and Audrey and her fiancé, Ryan.

Visitations will be held for Frances on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood and again on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home.

A Memorial Service for Frances will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 30, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Coopersburg.
