Mrs. Doris M. Ackerman

Mrs. Doris M. (Smolensky) Ackerman, 93, of Fleetwood, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at her home.

Born August 18, 1929 in Clifton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Catherine (Heineke) Smolensky. Her husband, Andrew F. Ackerman, passed away on February 16, 1983.

Doris was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Reading, and a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Wayne, NJ. She was a graduate of Clifton High School and Quinnipiac Junior College. Doris enjoyed shopping and spending time with and caring for her family.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Karen A. (Ackerman) Malizia, wife of Neil A. Malizia, Fleetwood, her grandchildren, Christopher, Kasey, Kyle, Courtney, Nicole, Katlyn, Brandon, Mya, Lauren and Neil Jr., and by her great-grandchildren, Zachary, Laura, Noah, Megan, Erin, Sarp, Demet, Alexander, Cooper, Ryleigh, Jacob, Olivia, Hudson, Logan, Remi Lucille, and one on the way.

In addition to her husband, Andrew, she was preceded in death by her sons, Andrew C. Ackerman and Glenn S. Ackerman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, 15-05 St. Anne St, Fair Lawn, NJ. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson, NJ.
